Good Evening!

Today as a nice surprise work day. With the temperature in the 70’s and no rain we managed to get quite a bit completed.

We moved all our plants back outside for more hardening. This takes at least 30 minutes these days.

I made laundry soap today using the recipe I got from the Duggar’s website:

Homemade liquid laundry soap

Ingredients:
4 cups hot tap water
1 Fels-Naptha soap bar
1 cup washing soda
½ cup Borax

  • Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with water. Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.
  • Fill a five-gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with more hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.
  • Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (It will gel.)
  • Optional: You can add 10-15 drops of essential oil per two gallons. Add once soap has cooled. Ideas: lavender, rosemary, tea tree oil.

Yield: Liquid soap recipe makes 10 gallons. Top-load machine: 5/8 cup per load (approximately 180 loads). Front-load machine: ¼ cup per load (approx. 640 loads).

It works amazingly and we use a koolaide or drink dispenser from walmart to hold it. The cheap clear plastic kind with a spout, it even comes with a built in handle so you can shake it up as needed.

We also did a bunch outside. Durbs crawled under the trailer and sewed up the rip in the fabric that was huge and allowing animals to nest in our insulation. No more free room and board hahaha. We also got the flower garden started with removal of roots. Hope to plant there in another week or two.

We also got one of the chicken coops completely removed!!! The one next to it too will be removed and the space left  behind is where we are putting our new coop. We were even able to salvage some 4x4x12’s and the chicken screening. Might be able to use some of the metal roofing but it is pretty rusted on one side.

We also started more flowers and herbs.

And we had some fun as we relaxed after corn dogs for dinner.

Here is my son wearing a bow-tie which he put on himself.

Sweet Dreams everyone! Come back tomorrow as we are checking up on our eggs(candling), baking bread and hopefully getting that other old coop out of the way for our new one!

Blessings and we love Y’all!!
